Kinepolis presents new website and personalised apps

| General

Film lovers will have noticed: Kinepolis Group has just recently dressed up its websites kinepolis.be, kinepolis.fr, kinepolis.es and kinepolis.ch, as well as its international iPhone, iPad and Android apps and its My Kinepolis newsletter in a new tailor-made style for the film and event lover of 2012.

Sporting a new design, the website is conveniently arranged, informative, user-friendly and transaction-friendly. Browsing the revamped kinepolis.com, not only can surfers navigate more smoothly than before to all possible films in the Kinepolis range, but also to the more factual range of performances such as opera, theatre and ballet and concerts, which are attracting increasing numbers of enthusiasts to Kinepolis. From spring too, the Kinepolis website is also becoming 'personal', for Kinepolis is providing a 'preference driven' system, designed to bring to the fore Kinepolis films and events that fit in closely with film buffs' personal preferences.

The iPhone and iPad Kinepolis apps and the My Kinepolis newsletter have already been personalised ('preference driven') thanks to a high-performance, innovative relationship marketing system, which Kinepolis was the first cinema group to use. Whereas in the past, film lovers used to be served up with a general range, now the mobile apps and My Kinepolis newsletter take account of favourite actors, actresses, directors, film genres, etc.. The film buff's own preferences (indicated in his My Kinepolis profile) and each film in scheduling are all set in mathematical formulas for calculating which cover and which film sequence to suggest. This considerably shortens his searching time for a suitable film and raises the chance of success.
For instance, the app and the newsletter look quite different for Johnny Depp followers than for Nathalie Portman fans. A female film enthusiast is likely to see a different looking app and newsletter than her male other half.
Browsing through film posters, photos and trailers with an Android smartphone, iPhone or iPad and finding the right screening time in a trice is all far easier than before. The app for iPhone and iPad is now universal (one app for both). All apps feature image recognition: point the camera at the film poster of any film presented and you go straight to the film information.

This Kinepolis initiative is a new step in its online and mobile service provision. Kinepolis now provides 'tailor-made' film information and is therefore setting a standard for the latest generation film sites. This year all mobile Kinepolis-applications are to be expanded with ticketing functionality.

About the creation of Kinepolis website and apps

As part of a broader corporate identity exercise, Dutch agency FasterForward created the basis for the design of the new website, apps and newsletter and Kunstmaan (Leuven, Belgium) developed it in detail.
The new website employs Drupal as CMS and was built by Amplexor (Leuven, Belgium).
Hosting is by Nucleus (Antwerp, Belgium).
In The Pocket (Ghent, Belgium) developed the new generation mobile apps.
The new 'preference driven' My Kinepolis newsletter was developed in-house using e-mail marketing and marketing automation software from Selligent (Eigenbrakel, Belgium).
