In May of this year, Kinepolis Group and IMAX Corporation announced the expansion of their longstanding partnership with an agreement that included six new IMAX screens in Europe and North America. Renovations have now been completed almost everywhere and all new IMAX locations have been or will be opened in the coming days and weeks.
The IMAX screen in Landmark Cinemas’ Waterloo location in Ontario, Canada, was the first to open its doors, on 7 October. IMAX Liège, in Belgium, will be open to the public as from 13 October, IMAX Kirchberg in Luxembourg as from 18 October, IMAX Nîmes in France as from 19 October, and IMAX Madrid (Spain) as from 20 October. ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ and Martin Scorcese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ will be the first screenings to be shown there, for moviegoers to enjoy the world's most immersive film experience. Lastly, the new IMAX screen at MJR Southgate (US) will open on 9 November with the release of ‘The Marvels’.
