Kinepolis Group has obtained all the necessary permits to start construction of a brand-new cinema complex in 's-Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands). The cinema will be located in the Paleiskwartier (Palace Quarter) and will have 7 screens and around 1,500 seats. The Paleiskwartier is part of the inner city, close to 's-Hertogenbosch Central Station, an area that is currently undergoing a full revamp. The cinema will be surrounded by offices, appartments, a supermarket and a restaurant. Kinepolis is aiming to attract 350,000 filmgoers a year in Den Bosch.
Construction will start this month already and the opening of the cinema is planned for early 2018. After Kinepolis Breda, this will be the second Kinepolis cinema in the province of Noord-Brabant.
Kinepolis first entered the Dutch market in the summer of 2014 through the acquisition of the Wolff Bioscopen group. At the end of 2015, Kinepolis took over the Dutch Utopolis complexes and in 2016 new-build projects were opened in Dordrecht, Breda and Utrecht. The cinema in Den Bosch will be the fourth Dutch new-build project of Kinepolis. Currently, Kinepolis has a total of 15 cinemas in the Netherlands.
