Passbook popular among Kinepolis audience: more than 50,000 Passbook tickets after 50 days

| General

Since 19 September, Kinepolis has issued cinema tickets via Passbook, Apple's wallet app which stores digital copies of tickets, membership cards, loyalty cards and discount vouchers on your iPhone. This functionality is also available on Android devices. In so doing, Kinepolis again takes the lead in the international cinema industry.

Successfully so, it seems. Cinema loving smartphone users are very happy with Kinepolis' presence on Passbook. In the space of 50 days Kinepolis issued as many as 50,000 cinema tickets via Passbook in Belgium, France and Spain. Users appreciate the user-friendliness of the Passbook app as well as the scanning speed at the point of entrance.

About Kinepolis and Passbook

Issuing Kinepolis tickets with the Passbook app is a logical step forward in the evolution from online ticketing to mobile ticketing. Earlier this year, Kinepolis launched its renewed website, introduced several personalised iPhone, iPad and Android apps as well as a newsletter which presents movie lovers with their preferred films and events based on genre, actor, director, country of origin and other criteria. Since July 2012 smartphone users can enter the cinema by scanning the bar code image file which they received in the confirmation e-mail. On 19 September 2012 the Passbook initiative was launched. Soon you will also be able to purchase Kinepolis cinema tickets on a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone.
